With the America’s Baby Cancer Foundation’s
“Racin with the Angels Tour, 2008”
At Toyota Speedway at Irwindale!!!
Sunset Beach California. Toyota Speedway at Irwindale once again play’s host to America’s Baby Cancer Foundation “Legend” Eduardo Rodriguez Jr’s “Racin with the Angels tour” Saturday night August 30th, 7:00pm! Thanks to Speed Wong Racing, Brian Wong’s #89 Chevrolet will fly not only the “colors of America’s baby Cancer Foundation, but the face of “Eduardo Rodriguez Jr in both 40 lap Auto Club Late Model main event races Saturday night! 11 year old Eduardo tragically lost his battle with cancer last memorial day, but his spirit will definitely be felt Saturday night with an expected crowd of about 300 well wishers from the Baby Cancer Foundation, participating hospitals and of course Eduardo’s parents and brothers Alan and Justin joining the thousands of Toyota Speedway fans.
I feel honored to have Eduardo on the hood on a weekend when his little brothers will be honorary starters for the Auto Club Late model’s first race say’s driver Brian Wong. It’s a responsibility I don’t take for granted. Eduardo was a special young man, and I’m going to do my best to put him in Victory lane Saturday night; To continue with the theme of “Family Night” at Toyota Speedway of Irwindale, the 16 year old son of Celebrity Car Designer, builder Rich Evans, Dylan Evans will also participate with Speed Wong racing as an honorary team member and spotter for Brian Wong in both Auto Club late model races. Giving back is everything that my family is about said Rich; I am so blessed to have 3 healthy, incredible kid’s, and anything we can do as a family to help the kid’s and their families coping with life threatening illnesses we are happy to do. I am really proud of Dylan jumping on board this weekend in Eduardo’s honor. Also attending Saturday night’s event will be the founder and Chairman of the Board of ABCF, Bernard Hicks, and Co-Founder Philis Lane. The tragic loss of Bernard’s son Sebastian, and Philis's grandson Josh was the impetus for creating a foundation dedicated to easing the heartache of the families of children battling cancer, and helping them through a very challenging time.
Gate’s open at 4:00pm with the on track autograph session and an opportunity to meet Brian Wong, and take a photo with Eduardo’s tribute car at 5:45pm. Racing starts at 7:00pm.
