Rich Evans SEMA Challenger Blog
July 15, 2010 I am happy to report that this is behind me now. The concept and design are completed and I can get to the fun part which is bringing my concepts to life! For this build, I have decided to go with a "Modern Muscle" theme. I am putting a spin on the modern feel of your average muscle car and taking it back to the '70s with a more classic but still edgy look. This car will look like its going 100 mph while standing still. The new generation is all about being different and personalizing their cars. I want the consumer to be able to transform their car into something original and exciting Ðsomething you donÕt see everyday. Since the creative concept is set, I am now going through the process of gathering the pieces that I need to complete the puzzle. The first step in the re-invention of the Dodge Challenger will be the body kit. The interior movement and body part development will come later. My design focus will be bringing the exterior design into the interior of the car. Now for some details. The body kit consists of a front lower spoiler, left and right rocker panels, left and right rear flares, rear bumper lower spoiler, rear wing, and hood scoop. For the interior, I will be working with Katzkin. The color will be a really nice finish to this project, but I would rather not tip that hand just yet, so I will share my color scheme in future blogs. This week I have been working on the design concepts for the floor panels, headliner, floor mats and steering wheel. I have started on the body kit and am pulling the seats out now. I would be remiss to wrap up without mentioning some of the amazing sponsors that I have the pleasure of working with on this project. Max Naylor with Vegas Fuel, BFGoodrich, 3M Company Supply, and MGP Caliper Covers (who plan to introduce a Mopar Rich Evans Caliper Cover). I am extremely excited to work with Mopar and their great team. This is a stellar organization and I am proud to be a part of it. Now back to work!
