Rich Evans SEMA Challenger Blog

August 6, 2010
The build is off to a great start! With the support of Mopar¨, I am taking this Dodge Challenger to a whole new level and it excites me to wake up and work on it everyday.

I am moving forward with the interior of the vehicle right now and customizing the door panels, rear seats, and front seats. As I mentioned in my last blog, Katzkin is helping out with the seat design and I am dropping the seats off to them in a few days. We will be working together to apply my design concept to the seats, which should look really cool when completed.

I am being cognizant to not let the exterior dominate the interior. I want to create a happy medium between the two so that they complement each other. One of the elements to making this happen is to pick an exciting color scheme that will make a statement, and I am glad to announce that the colors have been chosen!

The interior will be black, blue and silver and the exterior will be blue and silver. I think these colors will give the car a very clean and cool look while still keeping an aggressive edge. The graphic details for the car have been decided on as well, but I will share those at a later date.

Mopar and I decided to add an exciting new twist to this project, which I would like to share. In addition to revealing the car at SEMA, I will also be testing out its true performance by participating in the Pinks All Out Race on Nov. 19Ð20 at the Firebird International Raceway in Arizona.

Due to this exciting new element, I will be jumping on board with Mopar's performance engineering team to come up with a motor that should help win the race. This will add several more steps to the build, which we will have to accomplish in a short time frame, but I am confident that everything will get completed on time.

The body kit is coming together as well. I am about 80 percent done with the front spoiler and 60 percent done with the rear wing design. I am still developing the headliner design, but other then that, almost all of the design elements have been completed.

I also want to let everyone know that a few nights ago we had the premiere viewing party for the cast, crew, and sponsors of "The Autoholics", a new automotive TV Show. The premiere went very well and I just want to take a minute and thank all the sponsors for their support. I am blown away by the effects and I think that this show will take automotive television to a whole new level. You can find more information about the show on the home page of my website.

This Dodge Challenger is the biggest and most exciting project I have done to date. It is a great feeling to picture something in my mind and make it real. The Mopar team makes it all possible and the end result will be a vehicle that has been completely transformed into a modern muscle masterpiece.
